STATUE

A dorned orrant
Date: 18th century
Material: Wood, polychromatic traces 0.92m
From: Ankor Wat (Siem Reap)
Kneeling in humble contemplation this praying figure, carved in a typically Khmer spirit is shoen as a very young man Dressed in a richly embroidered sarong in the style of the clothes of the late twelfth century.




Krishna lifting Mount Govardhana
Date: 6th century
Material: sandstone height 1.61m
From: Wat koh, Prei krabas (Takeo)
Krisna, one of the ten incarnations of thr Hindu god Vishnu, is often depicted on the wall and lintels of Khmer temples.This sculpture,carved
in such high relief that Krishna’s support.

Nandin the Bull
Date:7th century sandstone
Material: Height 0.33m length 0.56m
From: Basak, Romduol(Prei Veng)
Cambodia Nandin was viewed traditionally as the vehicle of the god Shiva and also worshipped as a form of that god. A kneeling figure of Nandin was commonly place facing temple dedicated to Shiva.
